VFD

02/14/2010 10:19 AM

we are using 2 nos of 250 kw VFD for ID fan application in boilers.

out of one automatically reducing the rpm to zero, and we are able to restart immediately after reaching zero rpm (the drive doesnot requires no reset operations ) .it is not leaving any alarms also. the model is MM430, SIEMENS make.

fan application is 750 rpm max,but we are always operatiing around 500 650 rpm only ,load also 65 % only.more over there is no commond from DCS, it is operated from panel mode,

it is gretely confusing, pl give suggestions

Chances are about 99% that you are somehow losing your run command. Are you saying that you are ONLY using the keypad for on-off and speed control? Or are you using something else for on-off and then using the keypad for speed control?

My Friend,

This is DED problem or design problem.

VFD is being used without a purpose? Make a use of it by using Temperature or Pressure Switch/Transducer or combination. You can adopt this locally inside the local panel.

If he has one working correctly and the other is not, it's a good bet that his overall system design is not flawed.
