Microscope Camera Software (Moticam and Leica)

02/17/2010 5:45 PM

I am looking for software to view and capture images from 2 microscope cameras - a Moticam 2000 and a Leica DFC 400. I don't have the original software that came with the devices.

Can you recommend a good, free, software package to simply view and capture images from both these systems?

Dickson beat me in providing the best (first) solution (gave him a GA). I had the same problem while teaching at a community college, but I obtained good digital photos by focusing directly through the microscope optical lens. I took excellent shots even under oil emersion. There are good software programs out there, but finding one that is compatible with your own hardware is difficult.

What sort of interface is provided? If USB, then probably the devices can be "seen" as storage device.

My (very!) cheap microscope does just that....
