LV Distribution and Location of Electrical Room

02/17/2010 11:12 PM

I'm looking for the design criteria of location of MCC room.

Sometimes, Too big size of LV cable is required considering voltage drop because of long distance between MCC Room and Motors.

It is known MCC room should be loacted as close to Motors but it is not easy to install MCC Room adjacent to Motors because of cost problem.

If somebody know there is the economic study for the LV distribution whitch mentioned specially view of electrical room location or have any idea , please advice.

Thanks,

Campo

It seems that nobody can give answer... Afraid every time having this question you are to check a few variants - Central MCC for entire plant if the plant is compact enough - MDB and several MCC close to loads if there are separated loads. Need to calculate each variant

-one transformer room - one LV MDB - centralized MCC - longer cables, more electrical installation works, less civil cost ( only one Mcc building), easy in maintenance and operation ( all in one location, electricians need not to run all day between locations)

- star topology -MV MDB - a few separated trafos -MCCs - less cables length, installation cost, more civil work, worse for operation and maintenance...
