Excellent question. I didn't find anything on it, either. But it is relevant, because if you string some wires rather tightly at one temperature, and then the ambient cools off considerably, you might bend a few poles or stretch/break some conductors. Even without knowing if any codes apply, I have checked this out once or twice.

[The largest number of "hits" I found for "minimum sag" were about the work rules of the Screen Actors' Guild. At least someone is interested in the topic....]

dear all,

this tricky question can be amswered in another way - the precaution required for the min. sag is that xlpe insulator does not damage & cable do not puncture. Manufacturer's catalogues clearly allow us to bend the cable max. 15 * dia of cable.

say, I may not be that accurate, but dia of 4*35 sq mm cable - say 42 mm, then , sag permitted will be 15 * 40 = 600 mm.

using the bending radius as a reference will be too awkward.... say @ your service entrance your xlpe sags about a meter from the pole to the service entrance pedestal

Try the National Electrical Saftey Code instead of NEC. NESC applies to utility co.
