Magnetoreological Fluids

Gaiker Technolgy Centre, out of Spain, has developed a new dampening system based on "various magnetoreological fluids that vary their viscosity proportionally depending on a magnetic field."

Shocks

I read somewhere that these were going to be used in shocks for cars. That should make for a smooth ride, but it will be expensive to repair if something goes wrong.
