Valve Actuation

02/22/2010 8:08 AM

Hi,

I have an application that involves a C-pump and a pneumatically actuated valve. The whole idea behind the project is of as follows:

1) When the C-pump loses prime or when the pressure falls below a certain pressure (<80 psi), this action should actually trigger a pneumatically actuated valve to shut down another system.

I was wondering whether there is anyway, the other valve(pneumatically actuated) would be able to sense that the pressure is below 80 psi and shut down the system ( basically the pneumatic valve shuts).

I'd use a pressure switch to activate the valve. Pretty simple stuff. You might also turn the pump off with that switch, too. No sense in burning the pump up.
