Phase Loss

what happends when you lose a phase (i.e) blown fuse or something similar

in a wye connection in a line side and what happens when you lose a phase in the load side of a wye?

On a supply to a motor, expect either the motor overload protection device or the circuit protection device of one or both of the other two phases to operate as well.

Single phasing takes place. Should the load be a motor, it will stop rotating and "hum" until the o/l trips. In a resistive load i.e. lighting situation, some lights will be out.
