Neutral Conductor

hey guys whats the real purpose of the neutral conductor on 220v and 110v supplies.

In most of the cases, neutrals are connected to ground. All protection schemes genarally use neutral as reference and so any ground fault can be detected with ease andpeotection schemes become cheaper.

If you have neutral with a phase then you need only a single fuse or one poll MCB to isolate the circuit. Which again save money.

System voltage cann't be changed to a high value in case of any fault as neutral is grounded.
