MV Cable Insulation

Is there a further development happening on insulation for mv cables? Presently xlpe is being used as the insulation, which has certain limitations

EPR (Ethylene-Propylene Rubber) and TR-XLPE (water Tree Retardant Cross-Linked Poly-Ethylene) insulation are the development over XLPE.
