Flow soldering, also known as wave soldering (or sometimes wave-flow soldering), is described here.

There is no special relationship with relays, except perhaps:

  1. Relays may be used in the wave soldering machine control system, and
  2. Special regard to soldering temperature and duration may apply to specific relays; if so the relay manufacturer's data sheet should point this out.

Re-flow soldering is described here. Similar comments apply.

Due to foam or spray fluxing, if the relay is not sealed flux can get into the contacts. This would cause sticking and / or failure of the relay. Also depending on what type of wash you use after soldering can affect the insides of the relay. For wave soldering it is recommended that sealed relays be used. Some realys have a small break off pin to be removed after processing.
