Practical Functioning of Electronic Governor

Dear Forum Members,

I have gone through a lot of threads regarding Synchronising of DG sets and regarding the electronic governor aspect. i have the information that for KW sharing , the speed of diesel engine is varied, which is through governor. our modern day diesel engines use electronic governor for automatic variation in speed.

my doubt is : Practically how does the electronic governor function and what is the mechanism and construction of governor system.

governors usually have this electronic controller... where in the governor was automatically controlled in fuel intake(actuator for conventional dg)..to maintain frequency of the generator specially o synchronization and increase of load...usually voltage is signal for governor control

I agree with you. But what is the mechanism. how does a mechanical system respond to a electronic system. In textbooks during my engineering days, i had read about flywheel as a governor. I just need this information for academic purposes.
