CR4 User Group for Nuclear Power?

03/05/2010 12:46 PM

Years ago (left in 1969) I worked in a nuclear research facility, and learned a bit about nuclear reactors. Then left the field, so my knowledge is far out-of-date. What CR4 section discusses nuclear power reactor subjects? Or, is there a website or Yahoo Group that I can use to update my knowledge with an overview of the subject.

I just read "Ten Strikes Against Nuclear Power" by Alisa Gravitz, and it deserves a reply; I would like to be able to do it from more recent knowledge.

Thanks.

Thanks! I'm still new to CR4 and didn't realize the many user groups existed. I have joined.

I also wish nuclear power was more benign, but did the Good Alisa give an alternative to N.P?? If not nuclear power, then what ??

Perpetual subservience to the Gulf Lords??

I'm working on an article to reply to Alisa's mis-information. I think she was in favor of wind and solar, but the power density of them is far too low to supply our requirements--not to mention troubles with NIMBY.

It appears that the IFR or LFTR may be the way to go. If I understand correctly, they have much less waste which has to be stored for only a few hundred years instead of multi hundreds of thousands, and can even use the existing waste material.
