You have an industrial generator for lightweight tools or aviation purposes. To run at 60 Hz with this generator you will need to slow down the rpm of the diesel with 400/60 = 6,666666666666666 times. You will use a 30 kW diesel to have only 4.4 kW left. Best is to replace it, or change the generator head. The generator part has not enough sheet metal to take care of the hysteresis losses at 60 Hz. And the copper wire is also too thin to deliver the power. (Only when the diesel is making 4000 rpm at 400 Hz, it will still run 6.6 times slower, but at bad efficiency. The speed controller will need to be "adapted" if not replaced.- negative advise to go on with this.

You can use step down frequency converter 400 to 60hz. A set of motor (400hz input) coupled to a alternator (60hz output). www.hzfrequencyconverter.com

Is more expensive than just put a 60 Hz generator head to the diesel. And also more wear and tear and loss of efficiency. But it can work
