Earthing Impedance Formula

03/08/2010 12:02 PM

hello everyone,i would like to ask you a question about earthing empedance calculation following formaulas are for a one ground rod but they are from different sources, R=(ro/2.pi.L).((ln4.L/r)-1) R=(ro/2.pi.L).((ln4.L/r)) now both these formulas calculates the empedance. First one is from BS7430 Second one is from Turkish Standarts. which one is the right one? Which one should we use

Along the line of lynlynch's question...

If under the control of British standards, use BS-7340; if under control of Turkish standards, use that. Another jurisdiction, then ???

I would guess if uncertain which of the two referenced here is applicable, use the larger rods. Is too much earth a bad thing?
