03/12/2010 9:20 AM

Greeting all,
Can bilateral or unilateral words be used for transistor. Like a diode we call it a unilateral element. How about the transistor?

The components which can allow current only one direction are called unilateral elements

Eg: Diode

The components which can allow current in both directions are called bi-directional elements

Eg: Resistor
