Pro/E Wildfire Textbook Recommendations

03/14/2010 6:09 PM

Ladies and gents, I've finally secured new employment after several months of kicking cans but the new employer uses Pro/E Wildfire and I have never used it. I'm very good with Solidworks and I have a passing knowledge of Inventor. I am looking for a textbook/tutorial that will allow me to get up to speed using this new software. Can anyone recommend such a book?

Here's a link to a free pdf file of Pro/e Wildfire 3.0. they are all very close to each other in the way they work.

Hope this helps you.

I do not know Pro/E Wildfire, so I cannot help you there. But congratulations on getting employed.

i have had very good luck with the click-by-click tutorials by Roger Toogood; he's written both intro and advanced books.

ProE has online training and tutorials at PTC University. This includes a SolidWorks to ProE class.

Hi, Knowing one 3D software is enough to grasp any other software. If you know the fundamentals of one software, it is applicable for all 3D softwares. Only the names of the feature vary, for example we call sweep in pro/e, the same thing is called as loft. For both softwares trajectory should be perpendicular to section. Likewise you can relate things. however pro/e is not as flexible as solidworks, which you can master it by experience. If you work continuously for 1 week in pro e, you'l automatically gain momentum. All the best for your new job. Cheers Arvind
