Custom molding of Foams

03/15/2010 3:33 PM

I have recently changed jobs and am working for a company that molds expandable foams, I.E. (EPS, EPP EPE) I was just wondering if there are others in this industry or companies out there that use these types of foam and what your applications are? I wanted to get a thread going to see some of the uses out there, and what all the possibilities are.

Have a great week

Hello RW,

Though not in the business,

I'm interested in knowing what characteristics a mold must have in order to be used for EPP molding.

I ask as I am considering the purchase of some molds used in foam mfg. but not EPP.

Thank You

Our molds are an Aluminum cast tool, we use steam to do the molding so they are alos core vented for the steaming process.

First I'd do a Google search of the three sets of initials here.

The last time I molded PP foam I used P-20 steel for tooling.
