Gassification Technology Supplier

Am looking for real and working and operation gasification technology supplier using solid biomass and RDF as feedstocks. the web is awash with "technology suppliers" but when you get to the details these are either rusting pipes put together or creating more environmental mess than it should prevent. anyone with a suggestion please? I am willing to travel to see operational logbooks and actual performance wherever it may be...

Hi, EC. I'm an energy consultant myself, and I represent systems of the kind you're looking for.

The first is a gasification technology. It gasifies pretty much any kind of solid fuel (MSW, tires, sludge, biomass, etc.) of up to 70% moisture (!) and combusts the syngas it in a pulse burner. The result: very hot gas that leaves it at 2,300 F.

Eighteen-odd ones of various models have been installed in North America over the past 20 years, though none are presently in operation. The latest model's performance is the one given further up.

I also represent various other technologies that may interest you: a power-generation system that can generate up to 50 MW per genset, needs no water to operate, and is ideal for waste-heat-to-power applications because it can operate from heat sources whose temperatures are anywhere from 250 F to 1,000+ F.

Lastly, I represent a low-temperature (150 F) multi-pollutant reduction system for flue gases. A single unit reduces the presence of all of the following pollutants present in flue gases: NOx, SOx (including SO3), heavy metals (mercury, vanadium, arsenic, cadmium, etc.), acid mists, particulates, etc. These units are much more compact and economical than SCR-FGD-cyclone/ESP trains; compared to full SCR-FGD-ESP trains, the units are 60% smaller and their capital cost is around 60% lower.

Plus, I've got several other systems and technologies that are bound to interest you (energy-saving motor regulators/protectors; very-high-performance thermal insulators, etc.).

If you provide some contact information, I can have a US distributor of a world wide gasification company, we deal with in my engineering firm contact you. The company has completed numerous projects in Europe and East Asia, and should have no problem finding something relatively local for you to review in maybe China mainland or Korea (I am guessing Europe would be a bit far).

Why not liquify rather than gassify the biomass and waste? The process of reducing solids into liquid is much cleaner and cheaper than making gas. There is very little work being done on this so it might be fit your needs until its better understood how much of an improvement it is over the gas making process. Its something to consider though.

thanks very much. The project I am working on is actually a combination of anaerobic process on the wet wastes but there are solid wastes that are more efficient to either burn as pellets or gassify. both and either way, i get power from wastes.. I am open to technology linkages if you can refer some...

Hi, The process I am pushing is very simple but as far as I know not available yet. Its a demand problem that has retarded development of this waste to oil process. The demand for a better process needs to be made clear. I can tell you trash as you describe can be made into oil a whole lot cheaper and with much less polution than getting power by combusting the solid waste and making gas. As you know oil can be sold on the world market which is a much better idea, don't you think? You get rid of the waste and get money for the product oil and reduce pollution. I could reference the USDOE if you need more details. Or I can answer questions if that helps at all. Most of waste being generated by humans can be transformed into oil at much less cost than any other method devised to manage human waste, biomass and coal. Its a matter of good engineering being used to fix the problem.
