LG Plasma TV / Sky HD Compatability Problem

Can you describe the fault in more detail? Is it a picture decode problem? Have you tried another TV or interconnection cable to narrow it down to either the sky box or the LGTV? Does the LG website or LG or sky manual offer any insight (is there a compatibility setting or special cable that needs to be installed)? Have you had the whole LG printed circuit board changed or just the HDMI interface part?

Not sure I can offer much help as I don't own any HD system hardware (but someone here may if you provide more information). It sounds like their may be a fault in the main LG printed circuit board which is causing the problem, but you really need to narrow it down to either the Sky box causing the problem or the LG TV. Can you borrow another HD TV and Sky box and test them separately?

My father in law purchased an LG 42" plasma and runs it almost 24/7.

At one point (18 months) the background was turning red, showing up between a show and an advert during that momentary "blackout" between the signals. It started out around the perimiters and grew more inward until it began to show up in regular broadcasting of shows specially with darker backgrounds. Just a red hue.

Called LG, came right away, replaced a board and fixed the problem. Outstanding service right at the end of warrantee.

Sad that a 2,500 dollar TV had to get serviced so quickly, worse if it was out of warrantee BUT, gotta say, service was excellent. Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
