Can someone advise me on the type of Electrical Systems used for a typical Offshore Jackup Rigs. Generators? What is the typical electrical output power for the whole rig?

Generators.
Usually they have a LV diesel or natural gas generator, 415, 480 or 600V depending on where they are in the world and can be anywhere from 250kW to 5MW with multiple parallel gensets. But really big rigs sometimes use a MV (5kV class) generator, I've seen as much as 40MW, powered by a jet turbine that burns JP-5 and they have a small micro refinery to crack the fuel right on the rig from the crude they pump up.

Thank you so much for your inputs. We're working on a project to introduce renewable energy for Rigs using sea wave power, do you think this is feasible?
