First of all: Did you check the runouts when the coupling was assembled?

If the above was fine, subsequent coupling slippage could be one of many causes.

Did you experience a system fault? Was the unit sync'ed to the grid properly? Did you have any issues with the couping bolts during the last shutdown?

You could try stopping the thing and counting the blades?

Not much to do on. Is the frequency running speed? Could be balance, alignment, rub, instability, wiped bearing, resonance, rotor bow, and many many other things..

Dear Guest,

Your data message expressed for the 10MM/Sec. is not clear.

1. The following details to be furnished to analyse the causes of excessive vibrations.

a) turbine allignment details and values.

b) critical speed.

c) variations if any in the steam parameters

d) Some times electrical side also contributes to vibration in excess. In one

case of a similar turbine capacity. the magnetic side of alternator problem

was the main cause of excessive vibration.

cause of vibration

Try to give a brief steps by you to start and load the turbine.
