Yet Another Sequence

03/30/2010 8:21 AM

Roger Pink's sequences are so simple that I can't solve them , so I wanted to throw out a challenge worthy of the great mindless of our age.

What is next in this sequence? 265...

Blink has to wait thirty seconds before answering.

According to my examination of your post, 'What is next' is plain white pixels, no numerals.

Ed Cole would rise up from his grave and smack you silly for getting the order wrong.

My confusion was related to small blocks only, or all V8s.

However if the 265 and 283 do not belong to the same series then it will be

1, 265, 792, 1582, 2635,...

or

1, 28, 81, 160, 265, 396, 553, 736, 945, 1180, 1441, 1728, 2041..

but the second has only one series

1, 283, 846, 1690, 2815..

polygonal numbers

Re: Yet Another Sequence

Nah, not math.

I'm always completely flummoxed by the sort of number series that Roger recently posted that I can't even make a guess where to start. Psychologists talk about "left brain" people and "right brain" people. I think I might be "hind brain". So I thought I'd put up one for the rest of us.

The sequence are the short block Chevy engines - the second greatest engine ever made (Nothing beats a Merlin, not even a Vincent Black Lightning '52).

Cheers

Re: Yet Another Sequence

Now let ius take G, e,π, h, μo or any other universal constants (more than one if possible)

Put the value in excel.

make a complicated equation like G7-√h-πe

remove the decimal.

take 3 digit each from the value thus created.

Post as what is the next number .

Try it and send it to Roger (not to me) He did it didn't?

I am not the guest, still I agree with him, trying to find a series in internet is no fun.

You try to use your brain and then it aches till you google.
