When you tell us available battery is 3.5V, is that the design voltage, or measured voltage?

A 1.5V battery will (usually) check at 1.6V when new. Most low voltage equipment I use will tolerate about 10% variance in voltage with no troubles.

What does the manual for your PLC say?

each and every equipment has its own voltage rating to work from +5v to +7v that it can work when the v/g varies or deflects or when the equipment got heated up then their is some variation in resistance up some %age......

Sumit Thapar, are you the original poster?

If yes, I am sorry, but I really do not understand what you are after. I thought you were asking about the memory battery for a PLC? No? And PLC means Programmable Logic Controller to me; is that what we are talking about?

If you are not the original poster... well, I don't know what you are saying either. Sorry.

You have not indicated the type e.g. primary, rechargeable : carbon-zinc, NiCd...

The voltage of 3.5V you give is closest to Li-ion rechargeable (3.6V).

A difference of 0.1 volt in 3.5 is not a problem & a reading of 3.4 on existing is an indication of wear-out.

..."Most PLC equipment has indicator lights that indicate how much voltage is left in your Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) battery. When the light turns yellow or red or indicates low voltage, it is time to change your PLC battery. Lithium Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) batteries are designed to provide back-up power to the processors memory. Processors draw power from the Programmable Logic Controller battery to retain information in situations where power is lost for 30 minutes or less."...

..."Your average PLC battery will last anywhere from 2 – 5 years according to the type of processor, how much the battery is used and the environment it is in."...
