cantilevered beam

04/03/2010 4:51 AM

A steel pipe

inner diameter = 60mm

outter diameter= 80mm

yield strength= 250 MPa

Tortional moment = 8 kNm

Bending moment = 3.5 kNm

length of cantilevered beam not specified, but i assume it is because it does not matter.

a) determine the shear stress and the normal dtress due to the combined loadings.

b) draw Mohrs circle indicating max normal stresses and max shear stresses.

c) determine the principle stresses and the invariants.

You solve your problem, you show the results and how you came to the values and we correct if it is wrong but do not expect CR4 to make your job as a student.
