Toshiba Question

02/08/2007 3:48 PM

I am a proud owner of a Toshiba notebook. The thing keeps freezing in the boot process. Customer support gave me instructions for a bios update but the problem persists...Any comments?

Hey buddy, I'm a owner of Toshiba notebook too. It happens to me as well. Face it, Toshiba s*c*s! Haha.. Is yours new? Coz it happens to mine when it was new and it kinda went away after a few months of using.. But I did a couple times of recovery throughout that period before it went away though. So... keep trying~ ;)

if you start it with a flash drive in place this can cause it to freeze

You might want to check out the following website:

Some of Toshiba's laptops are included in the class action lawsuit described in it.

My friend has a Toshiba laptop and she has had many problems with it too. Is it still under any sort of warranty?

I have found products that Toshiba builds themselves such as DVD players, Receivers and other electronics are good, but in a laptop they are pretty much getting all the parts from different suppliers.

They don't even have a desktop computer line which would raise a red flag with me.

I had that problem on my HP (after a couple years of use). I tried everything, nothing worked. I took the bottom off and cleaned the cooling fans, fins and all air passages. Note: If you canned air or anything that makes the fan/fans spin, do not let them spin as they are not made for that kind of speed.

Any way a good cleaning and make sure that the air inlets/outlets are completely unrestricted just might cure your problem.
