Rating of Alternator

Respected sir,

Thank you very much for guidance in selection of

alternator in case of induction motor load.

Is there any mathametical

treatment to judge the capacity of the

altenerator.

Yes there is, assuming we are discussing on LT ones which generate 415V AC at 50 or 60 Hz. The alternator is rated in KVA and its full load current.

The full load current does not have any star or delta settings. The alternator is and must withstand its rated current on continuous basis.

Convert all power into KVA for selecting correct alternator.
