What's the problem? Didn't you see the disclaimer?

"If you get killed by a poisonous explosion it means you did something wrong."

Maybe a battery charger, but not a welder! I've got one at home. (dead Batt.)

I'll zap it tonight and report.

Cheers.

Did it work, or has CR4 lost a contributor?

"Guest" would be more of a troll than be a real contributor.

I don't quite ken the idea of allowing unregistered participants on the forums. It doesn't happen anywhere else that I've found on the interweb.

Some people are far too precious, any offense was purely his and I'm more than happy for him to own it who ever "it" may be.

I think that you may find that more people than only Guest #4 would take offence at their countries being referred to as "busted arse places". Is this beyond your ken?

(Not guest # 4 and not a troll).

Granted if it was taken out of context. In this case I was having a quiet shot at exploitative work practices perpetrated in the various Asian and Subcontinent countries. These practices being condoned by corrupt officials who by dint of position are more equal than others..

In the greater context of the practice of "sparking/shocking" an expired rechargeable battery. Along with "Refurbishing" electronic parts this would potentially be another rort that would appeal to those of a "slippery" nature.

Didn't have a chance last night. Evil stepdaughter had flat tire so I was otherwise occupied.

I'll try again tonight.

Dammit, work gets in the way of lots of important stuff like this.

"Ask your parents how to not electrocute yourself with a welder."

I'd try it with my little green 200Amp welder but I don't think I could wind it down low enough.

I do know battery conditioning chargers work (most of the time)by pulsing the charge to the target battery, but I would imagine by using the posted method the possibility of unintended consequences leading to opportunities of great misadventure are pretty vast.

Could be a good start up business in China, India or some other busted arse place that has no EPA, OH&S regulations or Unions to be concerned about..

Why try to turn this into an "I hate developing economies" tirade. China and India do not feature in the OP to the best of my understanding.

"China, India or some other busted arse place" is a condescending statement that is offensive and rude.

No wonder these people get pi**ed off with the West.

Mind you "Newcastle Oz" - possibly a suburb of South China in the not too distant future?

No "hate" was intended, implied or stated.

If you wish to hide behind the "Guest" login, then your comments are of little or no relevance to anybody else.
