The size and use of the generator are some of the key factors for generator protection selection. As already indicated in the previous comments, the generator used for bicycle light usually is without protection. But the one used in nuclear or other power plant have plenty of protections.

A numerical relay is usually one size fit all. It is generally very detailed since the risks are much higher.
