Fire Fighting System

04/09/2010 3:45 AM

Hi mates:

I have read this: "All indoor manual fire call points which are situated in a building will be connected to the local fire alarm panel installed in the building and connected to CCR. If the local panel is not provided in the same building, a group signal will be connected to the central fire alarm panel as an independent single zone.".

Could you explain me what does CCR here really mean? Center control room seems to be nonsense.

Regards

I was thinking "Creedence Clearwater Revival", but I am uncertain why they would want to know that your building is on fire...

Hi Doorman:

It is impossible to be "Credence Clearwater Revival" because my sentence is extracted from the requirement for Fire Fighting System (FFS). They dont want to know, it is just in the case you want the designer design for you FFS for your house/office. You have to give them your idea/requirement for desired engineering.

"CCR", it makes me crazy and here in my place everybody gives every meaning. This case is just like I am finding a "lost baby". I extremely hate someone who knows the abbreviation but don't make it clear for those who don't understanding.

Regards,

Hien

Perhaps "combination control" which refers to the ability to manually or automatically initiate fire suppression.

Well, let's have a closer look.

Manual fire call points tells me they are specifically discussing the pull stations, the small red wall mounted boxes that say "PULL IN CASE OF FIRE". These stations seldom initiate suppression effort, they only ring an alarm in the building, and notify the local fire department.

As a guess, CCR may mean the link that notifies the fire department??? Other than that, I'm sorry but I have nothing else.

CCR - Central Control Room

A good technical document must have a section like 'Acronyms' where all abbreviations should list what they are for.

All I know is that emergency lighting, and probably fire alarms will be wired to a special box that is still live even if the main breaker trips. That way, if an electrical problem that is causing the fire trips the main breaker, you will still have emergency power. CCR, I don't know.
