Dual Flow Regulator With Detent Control

04/09/2010 7:24 AM

I purchased a Lister Petter diesel powering a Spencer Carter pump. The pics are the setup on the reservoir. Two questions. How does the detent control work? I had three hoses supplied with it, two with 3/8" attachments and one with 1/2" attachments. Where do I attach these to power a double acting ram on a 24 Tonne press? Can this arrangement power a single acting ram?

The two outlets from the manifold (regulator) are 3/8" and the other two connectors are 1/2", one of which I am told is the return filter? Given these dimensions the hose connectors would seem obvious but I don't see how that would work. Can anyone enlighten me. Thank you

Ps this is my 1st post, apologies if I have strayed from the accepted format.

Hi Orchies10

Your right, the blue thing with UCC logo IS the return line filter.

Without more info, the rest is a guess:- I think that the manifold with the two Integrated Hydraulics control knobs (and a main pressure relief cartridge on the side) are flow controls but without knowing what is underneath the knobs it is a guess! It would have been really helpful to know if the pump was a fixed displacement type or variable.

With regards to your double acting cylinder, I think you are missing a direction control valve (DCV) AND, to answer the other bit, if you obtain a DCV, you can obtain one with TWO slices and configure the second slice for single acting!

I don't think that the lever on the side of the manifold is a direction control but ANYTHING is possible!

Sorry to be vague, hydraulics are just sooooo multi-functional.

Good luck with it.

It is obviously a special setup with 2 regulated flows.

Best contact Spencer Carter on 01326 373423 who will give you advice.

Regards,

Another engineer.
