Impossible question. Alignment "are/is" not clearance. What is it that you want to know?

Please restructure your question since:

1. Mostly, Journal type bearings are self aligning and the grub screws are loosened or

tightened on the shafts for removal and fitment.

2. The linear motion of bearings is restricted by jamming the motion of inner as well as

outer race, e. g. with shaft and with Plummer Block.

3. The clearance in bearings is the difference between the diameter of balls/rollers

and the space between inner and outer race. This is represented by letters C1 to

C6 in Japanese Industries Standard, where C3 is the normal clearance and is

suffixed as C or CN. C1 & C2 show 'less than normal' clearance whereas C4 to C6

show 'more than normal' clearance.

I hope that may clear the question.

Regards.

alignment is defferint than journal bearings clearences although if the clearence between the shaft and journal bearings pads high it will create misalignment.

so during machine overhauling you have to check the journal bearing clearance while the equipment is de-couple and you have to be sure the bearing housing bolts are all tight. Thin you have to install dial gauge in the bearing housing thin let the tip of gauge to touch the surface of shaft and make it zero thin left the shaft by chain block must not exeeding the range been offerd and recommanded by vendor or manufacture.
