safe load

i have a plate of 250mm x 250mm 25 th i m weelding it to a c channel which has a vertical load of 35 ton . c channel size 150x300 , co2 weelding .. i want to know that is it safe for that load.

How is the load being applied? Evenly? Over 4 points? 6 points? how big are the points?

How can a 250 x 250 plate manage to cover the end of a 300 x 150 channel in the first place?
