AC Generator AVR

hi

im looking for ac generator voltage regulator 8 amps, i google it and found some types saying that its 15amps, but when i checked the manual, it says that it can handle only 6amps continuous current and 12amps for only 10 seconds.

my question is, what they mean when they say 15amps regulator? do they mean it can handle 15amps for small period of time or it can handle 15amps continuous current? and why they dont name it 6amps regulator if it can only handle 6amps continuous current?

OK, sorted.

You may have googled for a 15amp regulator, but what you got is a regulator which happens to have a part number YH-15A. If you look at the data given (click here), you'll see that it doesn't mention 15A as a current; the "15A" only appears with "YH-" in front of it.

Note that they also supply one called YH-8A, rated 3amps continuous, 5A intermittent.
