I assume that the reason for the audit is to identify how much energy and related costs are associated with the various processes at the site and then to try to identify ways to cut those costs without compromising production or quality.
I have found that the most effective method of presenting this data is to take a two-fold approach.
First- determine the level of monthly energy usage that is dependent on weather conditions and then determine the level of usage that is constant and does not change regardless of weather conditions. Once you know those numbers, you know how much energy usage and costs can be lowered with improving thermal efficiency. You also know how much usage and costs are constant. This way, you can look carefully at those costs and determine WHERE and WHY the energy is being used so that you can look for opportunities to reduce that usage.
Second- (and this goes right along with the first action) Develop a Pareto Chart, like is used in quality control, where you present the energy users in decending order in a bar chart format so that it is totally obvious which machines or sub-systems are using the highest amount of energy and thus costing the most. This allows you to focus your solutions on the devices that have the highest opportunity for cost reduction.
Your presentation of solutions should be first- items that are risks to health or safety, second- items that are risks to reliability or quality and finally, items that save energy and money, presented from the most economically attractive and highest payback down to the least attractive.
By presenting your information in this manner, virtually ALL readers will be able to understand your data and how it fits into the big picture as well as what needs to be done to make the world get better.
Hope that this helps.
