Interfacing A 7 Segment Disply Unit

04/18/2010 9:45 AM

How do I make my Allen Bradly SLC 5 output 30 minutes count on my 4 Digit, 7 segment display unit. Is there a function block in the RsLogix 500 that can convert this 30 minutes timer. Th 4 digit display unit has 4 disply strobes for A, B , C, D and 4 latch for each digit disply.

Using the ASCII function is nice but won't work with your limited hardware. You will have to use the TOD instruction to convert your timer accumulated value (T4:5.ACC) to BDC (Binary Coded Decimal). When rung conditions are true, this output instruction converts a 16-bit integer source (timer ACC value) value to BCD and stores it in the destination register (memory location).
