Double Overlap Test

Does anyone know the meaning of "Double Overlap Test"? what test is it ? coz this test seems to be related to the psysical property of this fluorogold which is a specially formulated Teflon.

When testing adhesive shear strength you use a test referred to as a lap shear test. Normally 1" wide x 6" long samples of some thickness are bonded to each other with a 1/2" overlap. This gives a 1/2 square inch area of bond.

A single overlap joint is subject to warpage and bond failure due to peel failure. Double overlap joints allow a straight pull with no warping and associated peel failures.

So, we had a double overlap adhesive strength test. Or, a double overlap test.

I am not 100% sure but I met this denomination for above test which makes sure that the bond is loaded ONLY in shear.
