AutoCad 14 Dimension Question

04/21/2010 12:29 PM

How do you change your dimensions to read in decimals of feet, or feet and inches, rather than in all inches? IOW, if your dimension reads as 18", how do you change it to read 1.5', or 1'-6"?

I am creating a drawing, and I don't want to have to change every dimension as I go. Thx.

If I recall correctly, Type DDIM, Click on MODIFY, then set all your variable to where you would like.

And any other dimension that was made to the previous this update. to change these.

Type DIM, Select or window.the area to be updated. Then type update.

HI!.

What I do in this cases is:

Click dimension in the menu bar near the upper left corner of the AutoCAD display.

In the bottom of the list click in "Dimension Style".

Then, in the right side of the dialog box click in the Modify tab.

Now, click in the Primary Units tab near the top of the dialog box.

In the left side and up in this dialog box, click in the Unit Format arrow in it's case and choose the fractional one (or any other of your prefference) in the list .

Then, just click the Ok tab in the bottom and then the Close one in the next dialog box.

Now you are done and you will be dimensioning in fractional units.

Hoping to help!.
