It is possible but difficult due to the fact that fillets are used only for socket welds on small bore pipe. Anyway it is not required by the codes I am familiar with so why waste the time and money. Except that I have seen RT used to determine if pull back was completed as specified, if there was a question. i.e. a failure or rework revealed there was not enough pull back on a weld performed by a certain welder, several of his welds might be examined for the same condition. I have also seen it used on these type of welds but not for the weld itself, but for the pipe nipple to determine wall thickness. This was when a chealating process was not properly flushed and the dead legs of some drain valves and vents got eaten up by the agent that was used. Because the pictures were actual sized it was easy to measure wall thickness of the pipe to determine if minimum wall thickness was violated.
