Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's talk about why safety matters. Essential oil production can involve various processes that might pose risks if not handled correctly. From distillation to handling chemicals, every step requires caution. Ensuring safety not only protects our workers but also maintains the quality of the oils we produce. From machinery to protective gear, we ensure that all our workers know how to handle equipment safely. This reduces the risk of mishaps and promotes a safer work environment.
EVeryone should know alarm sounds, evacuation plans, and what signs and signals mean and what areas are off limits.
Others doing activities with equipment and materials and needing special safety equipment will need additional training in those areas.
Everyone should be trained on the Hazards that the materials on site may have. and alert to hazards of mobil equipment, pressurized lines, and high temperature equipment, etc.
Housekeeping, slips and falls, appropriate clothing/ shoes, cardinal rules, elimination of hazards, are just common sense items to be reviewed.
Anything required by code or statute- talk to senior management and engineering.
SInce you are coordinating, you will probably want to provide training matrials and contacts through the chain of command of management. and have them provide written notice that the training has been provided.
