DOL Starter Question

In what jurisdiction? I have seen many DOL starters above that range, though oftentimes there is good reason to pick star-delta, autotransformer, or solid-state soft start, or even VFD.

I know places where you can use it up to 50 kVA. It depends on the quality and capacity of the supply and is therefor different from place to place. Most of the time the power company will dictate the restrictions. You also need to wire over size since the start current (for the first seconds) is 5-8 times the regime current. And if no regulations apply you neighbor's lights may go out, hen you start the motor up.

bcoz of large starting current(5-8 times), starting torque

(2x),etc.............it will screw ur cables , protective devices and the motor itself........
