Strange Inductor

04/29/2010 6:41 AM

A couple of days ago, discovered in a TV circuit some inductors with magnets in they´r core.

It was the first time that I came across with such components, and do not know why they were built in such way...

Any answers?

I'm not sure what you mean by "magnets" however many adjustable inductors have a ferrite core which can be turned with an insulated tool for "tuning"

Hello! I mean that they have a iman (this is the word in Portuguese that means permanent magnet) inside ... I found strange

In Wikipedia there´s a page about inductors were they say that this method is used to increase the inductance , and is successful once it increase it by hundreds.

But I think that this may cause bizarre effects on the inductor behavior and must cause them!

they for themselves have bizarre effects, and with a magnet inside, I just dont know
