05/01/2010 7:19 AM

I am a newly electrical graduate. I am planning to go in desiging of LV panel boards control panel for the different system . I want to know the basic fuction of elements like ON DELAY TIMER WITH RELAY, CLOSING LEASE , SHUNT TRIP COIL , FUSE UV RELAYS etc. Please help me in order to get the logic of desigining. Thanks in adwance.

In the US, you could gain valuable experience by taking an entry-level position in a UL-508 (industrial control panels) shop. Or the equivalent type of entity in your locale.

Wow... to be an "electrical graduate" and to not know the basic function of those items, go and complain to the administration of the school you went to.

I am not talking about you... only the poor schooling someone has given you.

I would guess that the thread originator might be well versed in electrical engineering theory, but not yet have been exposed much to relay and ladder logic, everyday switching devices, wiring practices, and the like. If so, some hands-on experience will be just the ticket for him/her to integrate theory with practice. My best wishes for success.

have u joined any designing company? if so there r catalogues for all the above mentioned components ,explained in detail...............if u r planning to join then u gotta do some research on the net...anyway i ll give u a simple idea abt these component......on delay timer relay -> after receiving the required voltage from supply, relay wil be energised based on the time u set on the timer fixed to the relay.....i dont know wat do u mean by closing lease......shunt trip coil-> if u want to externally trip the ckt then we use shunt trip coils......fuse ->breaks the circuit when there s overcurrent.....uv relays trips when there s a uv (under voltage)..........
