Very carefully. I suggest you hire a qualified and insured contractor to do the job.

You have said it's 5.5 meters there are two other dimension which would help us to give you an answer. If it's too top heavy to move then lay it down and stand it back up on location. You didn't say how far you plan on moving it either. May be a crane would work for short distance. Then being top heavy would not be a issue.

I'd be making sure that the power was turned off first, or else there'll be some crispy sappers.

How far does it need to be moved?

How or who, moved it there in the first place (might be worth giving them a call)?

If it is to be moved within a short range (within a compound) then a mobile crane can do it.

If it is to be moved any real distance i.e. over 1 km. Then it will need to be loaded (by Crane) onto a suitable vehicle (low tray truck) and lashed down accordingly. A proficient Truck driver will know how to do this as that's his job.

For personnel and transformer's safety I would de-energize the tx. I assume the HV / LV bushings are porcelain, simple strain on a porcilain bushing can cause it to snap, you can also put strain on the bushings causing the seals to break then starts an oil leak. I am thinking this is an oil fill unit.

By "live" are you saying power is going through this transformer and it has to remain "powered" during the move?
