2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Acceleration Problems

my 2000 chevy cavalier laggs, or doggs when accelerating, also idles low if in any gear other than park, and it dies when in reverse alot. ive checked the battery, the altenator, and my leads to the battery. my wife had the fuel pump replaced in '05, so its only 5 yrs old. Any idea what this could be?

it means, cutting out, jerky motion, almost sputtering, but while running.
