Capacitor kVAR Required = kW (tan phi 1 - tan phi 2)

where kW is the connected load

phi 1 is the power factor angle of existing power factor [cos -1 (pf1)]

phi 2 is the power factor angle of target power factor {cos -1 (pf 2)]
