Strange thing about that video, when he puts his foot on the brakes, the engine is still on full power, Yet on my Fiat Panda when you apply the brakes with your foot on the Gas pedal the engine power cuts, as it does on the jetta at the end of the video.

Toyota mus be the only ones not fitted with this fail safe system

In my opinion, the second video (from Edmunds) was way better than the first (from Consumer Reports).

A stop button could be hit accidentally, so instant shutoff is perhaps not good. However, three seconds is much too long. A perfect answer would be hard to come by, but 0.5 to 1.0 seconds seems more reasonable.

I agree the second video is the better, i only came across that one after i posted the first one.

Hopefully by studying these videos the experienced drivers who use this sit will avoid being injured if they are unfortunate enough to be in a car with a stuck throttle
