How We Can Check AVR in Loncin Generator

05/18/2010 12:15 AM

Dears, Salam alikum,

I have a domestic Generator:

Manufacturer:LONCIN (China)

Power Rating: 2KVA (MAX 2.2)

Out put: 220Volt

We have the problem in my generator, it gives 300volts from output.

Now we dismantle the AVR from the generator, but could not understand that how I can check the AVR?

Anybody have some suggestion for checking rapidly.

Waiting....

Munawer Hussain

We have simulated this in our lab under single fault condition in the voltage feedback and PWM control circuit. It's very likely that the AVR is sourcing to much current to the generator assembly field coil. Since most AVR's are potted or coated you will not be able to fix it, especially without schematics. If you have an extra AVR you can swap it out to see if that fixes it. However, you are very likely to need to replace the AVR anyway.

Walaikum Assalam

dear just purchase avr from local market at PKR Rs.250 to 350 and fix it in generator and as avr ckt is covered or coated by magic and other material you can't check on the component level
