Interesting site. I bookmarked it.

Once used a VSWR matcher and hooked my portable CB radio antenna lead up to my patio umbrella. Worked just fine.

I used to make my own Ariel's for 144 MHz and for CB

The best one was a centre fed dipole, which radiated almost like a co- linear ie radiated at right angles to upright.

Guys,

I've never bothered with a computer gizmo for calculating frequency, wavelength etc.

I have always had hand held plastic slidfe rules for things like that! Perhaps shows my age!
