I want to know about about the prestraining of an elastomer and what are the mechanisms used for it.plzz respond

Do you mean mechanically stressing it or passing it through a filter?

i m sorry i was not clear abt my ques i was asked to design and fabricate a device that streches it mechanically in both directions. shall i do it just by screw mechanism or do u suggest any other mechanism.

what do u mean by passing through filter.cn u giv sum material abt dat

I've heard of stretching PVDF Polyvinylidene fluoride

That's how they make piezoelectric film (Kynar).

I don't know how you stress an elastomer. Once you remove the stretching mechanism, the material will revert back to it's original form. Remember elastomer=elastic polymer.

I don't know what you are trying to do, besides stretch an elastomer. Size, shape quantity, etc.

Good luck, it seems straightforward to me.
