FF Valve Positioner

05/28/2010 8:49 AM

i have a querry

If FF protocol is using to stroke the valve....then why this output is called as analog output ?..since FF is a full digital communication and we are stroking the valve in 0 to 100%

hmmm you are right as per Foundation fieldbus protocol we are using digital communication but as in case of valves with feedback or you can say positioners we use continuous feed back of valve's retaining required position or not and since all feedbacks are from 0-100% but they are of 4-20mA continuous signal informing us about the position of the valve thats y we call it analog signal the scale of 0-100 is distributed on the current level from 4-20mA.
